While we have been able to retain a rich sexual relationship, diabetes has taken away my spouse’s erectile function, which in turn made intercourse at first difficult and then a nonstarter. We missed being able to share in each other and I missed the closeness of intercourse. The meds didn’t work and I didn’t necessarily want him to undergo surgical intervention.
